On 2nd October 2009 DB Schenker and the German Centre Indonesia hosted their traditional golf tournament on the occasion of the German National Day for the eighth time. The tournament was held again at the scenic Rancamaya Golf & Country Club in Bogor and it was a lot of fun, indeed as it is every year.

This years’ German Reunification cup was the most successful so far; despite the economic situation the Cup was supported by more sponsors than ever before: over 50 companies and private persons contributed by buying banners, giving vouchers, goody bag items and lucky draw prizes, designing backdrops and invitations, creating the trophies, providing food & drinks for the players or giving donations directly to the Sinar Pelangi orphanage. It was fully booked more than two weeks in advance with 144 participants.  A highlight and major lure of the event was the 3 cars pledged by BMW, Mercedes and Volkswagen as hole-in-one prizes. Unfortunately nobody was lucky enough to win any of them. The proceeds of the event amounted to 75 Mio. Rupiah and went to the Yayasan Sinar Pelangi. This foundation runs an orphanage and provides surgical treatment for people with physical deformations.

(The hosts Mr. Hanns Hauptmann, President Director of DB Schenker Indonesia, and Mr. Jochen Sautter, President Director of the German Centre Indonesia, with children of the Sinar Pelangi orphanage)
